How it works
The maths behind it
Adhesive needed (kg) = area (m²) × bed thickness (mm) × 1.5 kg. We add the wastage allowance and round up to whole 20 kg bags.
1.5 kg per m² per mm is a typical figure for cement-based tile adhesive. Rough floors, uneven walls, back-buttering large tiles and trowel technique all change the real figure, so treat the result as a planning estimate.
